Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a wide array of characters, and a gripping narrative showcasing angels, demons, and sinister influences growing in power within the city.
Note: Spoilers for the latest installment of this adventure follow below.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The third episode ended with a huge suspense moment and introduced the first table of heroes who will split off from the main group to embark on their independent quest, apart from the remaining groups.
This warrior group includes Teor (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Given 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that keeping everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
That’s why, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the individual narratives before splitting into three distinct groups: Fighters, Planners, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
As described by the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a typically action-packed battle-oriented narrative style where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Initially, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might appear unsuited, but the actions of the latest installment make it clear why these particular heroes are best suited for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
First, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise kicked off the campaign’s events—manipulated the foes for his personal gain, breaking into the secret base, assaulting the rogue, and swiping all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The antagonist then cleared his liabilities and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, beyond the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each member has a individual motive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the close ally and trusted friend, desires retribution.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and advises that it is a dangerous environment.
- The strong character and The cleric, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to execute the fighter and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- However, their reputation as important members in the influential clan could assist the group reach areas they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The fighter vowed a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now accompany him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that govern the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The cleric turned against the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This means them no alternative but to head to the remote area in pursuit of Casimir.
Future Episodes
From the recent installment’s follow-up content, we find out that the Soldiers table won’t be around the following episode, leaving the rest of the participants to round up the Questers and Strategists groups.
Fans can look forward to finding out which characters will be where in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, released on next week.
